Credit card holders can score an exclusive 3% discount.
The Walmart Rewards Mastercard provides a 3% discount on all eligible purchases made at Walmart stores in Canada and online at Walmart.ca. This benefit is technically earned as "Walmart Reward Dollars," where $1 earned equals $1 CAD to spend. For purchases made outside of Walmart, such as at gas stations or other retailers, you earn a base rate of 1% back.
Additionally, the card currently offers a $25 welcome bonus, which you can earn by spending at least $75 in a single transaction at Walmart within the first 30 days of account approval and signing up for paperless statements.
To claim these rewards, you must redeem them in $5 increments. When shopping in-store, you simply insert your card into the payment terminal, which will display your available balance and ask if you'd like to apply it to your current total. If you are shopping online, you can select the "Redeem Walmart Reward Dollars" option during the checkout process.
"Try refurbished items for budget savings"
For items you buy regularly (diapers, dog food, coffee pods), you can use the Subscribe to Save program. You will get upto 5% to 10% off the regular price. Set the frequency (e.g., every 4 weeks), and it ships automatically. You can cancel or skip a delivery at any time. Consider subscribing to their newsletter, which delivers daily insights, upcoming events, exclusive deals, and special offers.
If you order online frequently, the Delivery Pass (approx. $8.97/month or $89/year) pays for itself quickly. You get unlimited free next-day delivery on groceries and general merchandise (orders over $35). The Walmart Rewards Mastercard often gives you 3 to 6 months of this for free.
Walmart gift cards are perfect for any occasion and can be used online or in-store. Choose from physical or eGift cards with flexible load amounts.
Walmart offers free shipping on orders to select locations in Canada on orders over $35, so you can shop without worrying about extra costs.
